Choosing your wine day

The Stellenbosch day pairs a cellar tour and tasting at Jordan with an included picnic lunch and a second tasting at Hazendal. The Franschhoek day is your own vehicle for the Wine Tram (tickets optional, booked by us or by you) — and for a guided three-estate day, our Cape Winelands Wine Tour now runs from the day-tours page with Stellenbosch, Paarl & Franschhoek and custom route options.

From June to November you can combine wine with whale watching: the Hermanus day follows Clarence Drive to the world's best land-based whale watching, then tastes in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. You pay for the vehicle, not per person, and the price includes your driver-guide, fuel, tolls, parking and water. Entrance tickets are optional extras and lunch is never included.

Want a guided three-estate day? Our Cape Winelands Wine Tour from Cape Town runs on the day-tours page. Want a shorter taste closer to town? See our Constantia wine valley half day tour. More private days are on our private Cape Town tours page.

Private tour questions

Which estates do you visit?

On the Stellenbosch day you visit Jordan and Hazendal. On the tram day you choose your tram line with your quote — subject to availability. For a guided three-estate Winelands day (Lanzerac, Babylonstoren, Glenelly, Grande Provence and more), see the Cape Winelands Wine Tour.

Does anyone have to drive?

No. Your guide-driver drives all day, and the Franschhoek wine tram day ends with a private ride home.

Can we design our own private itinerary?

Yes — that's most of what we do. Tell us your dates, group size and what you love (history, wine, wildlife, food, beaches) and we'll build the day or the whole trip around you. You can also start from one of our curated days and change anything.

How much does a private tour in Cape Town cost?

One price per vehicle. In Cape Town, the 7-Seater Toyota Fortuner (1 to 3 guests) is R3 450 for a half day and R6 250 for a full day. Four or more guests travel in the 14-Seater Toyota Quantum: R4 200 half day or R7 500 full day for 4–8 guests, and R5 500 or R9 950 for 9–13 guests. That total covers your guide-driver, the vehicle, fuel, tolls, parking and bottled water. Entrance tickets, tastings and meals are extra. Set your group on any curated day above to see the full cost per person.

Is the price per person or per group?

Both parts are shown. The vehicle price is one total for your whole group, set by the vehicle you need — the more of you share it, the less each person pays. Entrance tickets are charged per person on top, with child rates where the attraction offers them. You can untick any ticket and pay for it yourself on the day. Your written quote lists the vehicle, every ticket and the price per person before you pay anything.
